Review; Transformers Bumblebee Adventures Cyberverse Dinobots Unite Hammerbyte

The only thing cooler than a shark, is a shark that transforms into a robot, as a kid I had Cybershark (eying up the reissue at the moment) and his Transmetals 2 form, even recently I've been trying to get my hands on the Spark Armour Skybyte, so imagine my surprise and glee that they added another shark character to the roster.

Hammerbyte is the "Guardian of the Argon Sea" so the packaging tells me, I haven't seen the character yet in Cyberverse, I'm only a few episodes in but it looks like he is potentially a king given the head sculpt.

Out of the box, Hammerbyte is an amazing figure. All ball joints articulation bar the knees and head and an ab crunch due to transformation. Knees are pinned joints doing just shy of 90 and the head is fixed due to the gimmick, but what a gimmick it is! Push down on Hammerbyte's right shoulder and his shark head encapsulates his robot head! And I have to say I have had way to much fun with this gimmick.

Transformation to shark mode is fun and intuitive and utilises some well hidden panels to complete the shark look, and I love this dinky little thing. Only articulation is the jaw can open and close and the fins can rotate but it is very fun to swish it about and pretend it is hunting down its prey

Unfortunately the only downside I have with mine is the arms and chest have yellowed and that's how it was in the box. I picked it up as it was the only time I could find the toy and the rest in the store were the same.

Overall this is a great figure that I would highly recommend. I own two figures from Cyberverse, the other being Windblade, and they both great toys but Hammerbyte is so much more fun to play with and has a better gimmick in afraid to say.
