Review; Beast Wars Vintage Tigertron

As I may have alluded to in the past, I am a huge fan of Beast Wars. I feel this interest in it comes from it being the version of Transformers that was on TV when I was kid, it is 'my' Transformers, and as I may have alluded to before I am excited that there is a Beast Wars Reissue toyline. So today I look at one of the Characters that I highly sought after in my childhood years but never managed to get a hold of, Tigertron.

Packaging is that beautiful 90's nostalgia that I love seeing and sends me back to my childhood when I see it on store shelves. The fantastic art piece at the front which recently inspired the Golden Disk Collection Mutant Tigertron, because this piece depicts a traditional orange tiger where Tigertron in the show is that of a white tiger. Back of the box you have the instructions along with Tigertron's Tech Spec which is always welcome.

Out of the box, I have to admit I am a bit surprised, given the original show and all other Beast Wars media I had thought that the Tigertron toy was bigger that his cat friend Cheetor, so I was really surprised to find that they are the same size. The colours on this toy though are just amazing. I am really happy that the decision was made to go with the Takara paint scheme on this one because it deserved it. The white is pristine and just makes this toy stand out on the shelf. Then you have those beautiful piercing teal eyes.

Transformation to robot mode is fairly simple as was the style at the time, and viola, stunning Tigertron in all his glory. and I have to say I am blown back by this. I love everything about this toy. Sorry Cheetor, but Big Cat's colours really suit this toy a lot more. Once more we have that brilliant white shining through from the beast mode but now with more teal details that really just make the whole thing pop. even the face sculpt in this colours just looks so much better.

Articulation wise, like almost everything else in the Beast Wars line, Tigertron is all ball joints. Thanks to this is is super posable. I know people don't like ball joints because of how they can look but they just make a toy more flexible and playable. Accessory wise he comes with the notorious 'Gut Gun', which can be used as a mini water pistol, and his Quasar Cannon, which is his beast mode tail and I only found out the name of when I read the back of the box. Don't blame me, when I was a kid I didn't want to read I wanted to play with the toy.

Overall Tigertron is a magnificent toy and I would highly recommend to anyone interested in Beast Wars or Transformers in general, you can go w-roar-ng with this one.
