Review; Transformers Legacy Buzzworthy Bumblebee Silverstreak
Buzzworthy Bumblebee has been an interesting subline of Transformers. What started out as a line dedicated to Transformers Megastar Bumblebee and his various appearances throughout the years, now has some non-Bumblebee additions. Today we will be having a look at one of these additions, who has a bit of a contentious naming.
Semantics aside, Blue Blue/Silverstreak here comes in the Buzzworthy Bumblebee packaging with some nice art pieces and on the back the usual product shots. Something I quite like with the BB packaging is the interior packaging is a beehive comb styled design, which is a really nice touch.
Out of the box, this is an amazing looking toy. This is the design of robot I associate with Transformers, bonnet chests. I honestly love everything about this design, the door wings, boot boots, bonnet chest, honestly love a design like this that incorporates the car parts well.
Articulation is not comprised at all and has everything you would expect from the mainline. There is ankle pivot, rotating shoulders, elbow and knee bends, wrist swivel, they've got them all. One of points I do really appreciate is the great level of movement in the head. There are a lot of Transformers toys don't have great head movement. Accessories include two shoulder cannons and a blaster, that can be combined to form a triple-barrelled blaster.
Transformation feels somewhat nostalgic, it's very much compress and rotate at the hips. The whole legs compress within the car boot which I thought was very impressive and the hood just raises up from the bonnet. I feel like this level of engineering and transformation was reused for Legacy Skids/Burn Out, as the transformation is very similar.
Once transformed, you have this beautiful Vehicle mode based on the Fairlady Z. This is a truly stunning vehicle mode. I love the colours, the blue is nice and subtle, and the silver bonnet really shines through and breaks up the vehicle mode a bit. One of the things I love the most about this vehicle mode is that it fits in Earthrise Prime's Trailer! Need more Transformers that can be transported in that trailer.
Overall this is a great toy to have and I am so glad it got released as I could not get a hold of any of the Datsun brothers when they originally released, so to have a readily available Diaclone repaint was very welcome.
