Review; Transformers War for Cybertron Trilogy Chromia

I have to be honest with you, I enjoyed the War for Cybertron Netflix Series. Yes it had it's flaws and some parts that maybe could have been done without but overall I enjoyed the show, not the greatest piece of fiction but definitely not the worst. One of the characters I felt really stood out to me from the show though was Chromia, something about the sharpshooter just stood out to me, and was a character I had given up hope on getting until one day I ventured into my local Entertainer and there she was on the shelf. So lets have a look at The War for Cybertron Trilogy Chromia.

Having a look at the box we great a fantastic art piece of Chromia As well as the astonishing Earthrise artwork in black white and red, and I have to say I love the art design on this packaging. inside the box there is a red insert with the Autobot insignia and a close up of the artwork of Chromia from the front of the box as well as a pies to create a cut out Teletraan I.

Out of the box we have the toy itself and first impressions were really good. Sturdy figure and I like the damage paint done on the figure, I feel it suits it well compared to that of some of the other Siege figures. The sculpt for the toy is fantastic with lots of poseability, only issues I've faced with posing have with the legs, as the vehicle kibble can obscure some poses but can be turned down with the leg, and the angle of bend in the elbows and knees, neither can go past a 90 degree angle. there is a large backpack that becomes the front of the vehicle mode but this doesn't bother me, for some reason I willing to let it slide with this figure where something this large would usually bother me.

Accessory wise this comes with probably the most C.O.M.B.A.T. compatible weapon out of any other toy in the line I own to date. Their is a pistol and then 3 other parts, 2 can act as grenades or be used to extend the barrel on the pistol to make an almost rifle, the third part can be doubled as either a scope for the pistol/rifle or a silencer for the missions that require espionage.

Conversion to vehicle mode is simple enough and after it all you are left with this fantastic looking Sci-fi car mode, at least from the front. You see, from the front and side it is a fantastic looking car mode, you wouldn't even notice Chromia's torso on the top back unless you were really looking for it, but from the back, this is awful. I have seen recently that Transformers toys seem to be ignoring the back of some carbots car modes, Studio Series Hot Rod being one I have heard about but don't own at the time of writing to say for sure. I can understand the logic on HasTak's part, if you display your toys in vehicle mode it'll most likely be from the front or a front angle, but the missing back means you miss out on some photography opportunities, like showing a drag race start line or a hero racing to the rescue. Personally this is quite annoying to me for those reasons.

Other than that it is a great looking vehicle mode, I have some issues with the tabs on the arms at the back not wanting to stay in place but it isn't too bad. the paint scheme works really well for this mode and the damaged windows and scratches add extra character in my mind.

Overall War for Cybertron Trilogy Chromia isn't a bad figure, I would recommend it if you want to have a collection of the big name three original Fembots. It is fun to play about with and as stated my reasoning for having it was the portrayal of the Character in the Netflix series, but if it wasn't for that I probably wouldn't have picked this up.
