Review; Transformers Legacy Generations Selects Lift-Ticket

Transformers Legacy has been out for a good while now and so far all the figures I have had in hand from the range has been absolutely out of the park. Personally I think it is a fantastic idea, bring all these characters together from various universes. it reminds me of the old 2003 Universe toyline which I loved back in the day. I just like multiversal stuff, I feel it is official justification that you can mix all you different continuity characters together, which is why I also think I really enjoyed the Fun Publication Transformers Comics.

So today we take a look at a Transformers character who originates from the Diaclone toyline, but hasn't been branded as Diaclone universe for some reason, where the other Diaclone nods have been, it's Transformers Legacy Generations Selects Lift-Ticket. Lift-Ticket is based on the Diaclone No.8 4WD Wrecker Type, which would be painted green and released under The Transformers brand as Hoist. The colourations of the original Diaclone toy would also go on to inspire Hoists Shattered Glass counterpart, so with a few repo stickers, you could re-purpose this toy as well. Speaking of, Lets have a look at it.

I have to say I am really glad that a new approach was taken to the Generations Selects boxes. No longer is it the bland box with the Autobot Stencil, now we have a nice line art silhouette style box. I will be keeping this box as it is such cool box art. Opening up the box we have Lift-Ticket looking like they are being held prisoner.

Out of the box we have this fantastic looking robot mode. This is a repaint of the Earthrise Hoist, the reverse of the original G1 Hoist and I really like the design details and look of this mode. The red and yellow really suits this toys over the green I feel and I love the detailing on the face sculpt. Also have to love a toy that shines a positive light on Dad-Bods, makes me feel better. Back of the toy is a bit rough. I know you often don't display the toys from the back but the hollow parts really show. The backpack is really nice and I like the small wings that protrude.

Articulation on the toy is great and to the level you would expect on mainline toys. Thanks to transformation, there is a double jointed knee which makes for great posing. The wings on the back of the arms would have been better if they moved separate but they haven't got in the way of posing for me so far.

Transformation with Lift-Ticket is a treat, though I have to admit when I first did it I was sceptical as the bonnet (or hood) is entirely transparent plastic, though it is a nice solid piece so I am not afraid of it breaking. The transformation process has to me nods of old Transformers toys, just lots of folding and it's done. I really enjoy transforming it back and forth.

And once we have it in vehicle mode, it is a beaut. The striking red really shines in this mode. Then you have the hazard stripes with 'WRECKER' blazingly in bold along the body. This is the kind of tow truck that is you saw it towing your car, you know you are never getting it back. It's loud, it's bold, it almost goes against the 'Robots in disguise' motto that the Autobots usually strictly adhere to, and I love it. one other feature i love about it is the tow-line can be out or compact, and the overhead engine fan can be out or put away.

Tailgate has a few unpaid tickets on record

I skipped on Hoist and Trailbreaker in Earthrise because I didn't know who they were at the time, Having watched the show I would have liked Trailbreaker but the upcoming DK3-Breaker will be a definite pick up for me and I can say it's Marvel Comics Trailbreaker, he was blue in it. Between Lift-ticket and Hoist though, I am glad I got this one, a far better paint scheme that fits the toy far, far better than Hoists in my opinion. Overall I would have to say, if you saw this in the shop, it would be worth lift-ticket-ing. (don't shop-lift-ticket it though, that's not very nice)
